The third “Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation Conference (GEIC)”, scheduled to take place at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) in Israel on May 16, 2016, will be the first to take place outside of China, and is a joint collaboration between BGU and Jilin University in China. The main theme of this year’s conference will be “Entrepreneurship and Innovation, China-Israel – Challenges and Opportunities”.

The conference will create a platform for strengthening academic connections and will provide opportunities for meetings between industry professionals, academic researchers, senior executives, entrepreneurs and investors from the Jilin province and their Israeli peers.

Leading the conference are the Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business and Management at BGU, and the China-Israel Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Jilin University.

Hosting leading figures such as Nobel Prize Laureate Prof. Dan Schechtman and Mr. Avi Hasson, the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Economy, the conference will encourage the exchange of new ideas and new trends in innovation, and will explore opportunities for international partnership and cooperation. During the conference, a number of breakout sessions will take place, allowing participants to gain in-depth understanding and an opportunity for connections according to their field of interest – be it academic or business-oriented. In addition, throughout the conference participants will be able to visit the exhibition hall, where booths of Israeli companies involved in innovation will be featured, and also where they can view research posters presented by BGU students and graduates.

At this point we would like to invite submission of research papers to be presented at one of the two academic breakout sessions, on the following theme:

“Entrepreneurship and Innovation Experience and Challenges”.

The following specific issues are suggested:

1. Theories of innovation, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs;

2. Entrepreneurship and Innovation Comparison studies between China and Israel;

3. China- Israel Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Opportunities and Challenges;

4. Cooperation and Regional Economic Development between China and Israel;

5. Entrepreneurial Economy and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem;

6. Investment and Financing for Firms’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship;

7. Research Cooperation and the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements;

8. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education and University Innovation Ability;

9. Mode and Path for SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship;

10. The Construction of Innovation and Entrepreneurship System for Manufacturing Industries

Important Dates

· Abstract submission deadline: March 15th, 2016.

· Notification of acceptance: March 25th, 2016.

· Full paper submission deadline: April 4, 2016.
